I often wonder what is the best way to start a good fitness training program, and my answer is always the same - it depends on what you are looking for. No matter what you try, there must be a certain amount of balance, but there are different areas to focus on in terms of what you hope to achieve.
A friend of mine recently came to me and said he wanted to "make it big." I knew what he meant, but I decided to play with it a bit and I suggested going to eat a lot of Ding Dongs and chips and fries. He did not like, so I said I would need a training program for fitness that integrates the use of heavy weights and protein supplements. I told him I would have to have something to feed your muscle growth, and it was right and it worked. Within months, it was pretty "big", and very satisfied with what he had achieved.
Another friend asked if I could help design a fitness training program for him that would allow him to tone and lose weight. It is a few kilos overweight, so I made a plan to lose weight on their program of fitness training and then made him do cardio and weight training using a lower weight and more reps. This type of training allows a person to become strong and muscular without being really great.
In about a month, down and tonic and said he felt much better. He stuck to religiously program and working on a six pack in his abdomen, and could not be happier. For him, the best fitness training program was very different from my other friend, but both achieved what they were doing.
